Background
Fiji Shipping Corporation Limited (FSCL) was established under the Companies Act on 10th March 2004, after a review of the Shipping Franchise Scheme by Meyrick & Associates in 2003.
The main purpose of setting up FSCL was to take over the administration of the Shipping Franchise Scheme from the Ministry of Transport so that it would operate independently.
FSCL is controlled by an independent Board of Directors, who must be from the private sector, who are appointed by the Minister for Transport.
